Abstract

Wound healing is a complex cellular and biochemical cascade that leads to restitution of integrity and function. Healing tissues go through phases of inflammation, cellular migration, proliferation, matrix deposition and remodelling. Local, systemic and technical factors impede wound healing. Keloids and hypertrophic scars comprise a group of disorders that arise from wound healing.
