The Continuing Medical Education (CME) activity on Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) aims to enhance healthcare professionals’ knowledge and skills in the early recognition, diagnosis, prevention, and management of acute kidney injury. The activity will focus on common causes and risk factors of AKI, clinical presentation, appropriate investigations, and evidence-based management strategies to prevent complications and improve patient outcomes

Objectives

Define acute kidney injury and describe its stages and clinical significance. Identify common causes and risk factors for acute kidney injury, including dehydration, sepsis, nephrotoxic medicines, and urinary tract obstruction. Recognize the clinical signs and symptoms of AKI, including reduced urine output and features of fluid and electrolyte imbalance.
