Management of Diabetic Wounds
Objectives
The objectives in the management of diabetic wounds are to achieve good glycaemic control, control and prevent infection, remove necrotic tissue through debridement, promote wound healing by maintaining a clean and moist wound environment, relieve pressure through offloading, improve blood supply where possible, prevent complications such as amputation, and restore function while reducing the risk of recurrence.
