Description
This webinar will provide a practical, guideline-based approach to the assessment of syncope, with a focus on early identification of red flags, risk stratification, and structured diagnostic pathways. Emphasis will be placed on differentiating benign causes from high-risk etiologies, and on appropriate use of investigations and referral pathways to improve patient outcomes.
Objectives
Define syncope and differentiate it from other causes of transient loss of consciousness
Identify key red flags suggestive of high-risk cardiac or neurological causes
Apply a structured clinical approach to the initial assessment of syncope
Stratify patients based on short- and long-term risk
Outline an evidence-based diagnostic evaluation pathway, including appropriate investigations
Recognize indications for specialist referral and hospital admission
Improve clinical decision-making to reduce missed diagnoses and adverse outcomes
