Description
Adopt- A - County Diabetes Training programme was designed to offer up-to-date knowledge to Medical Officers and Physicians wrking in Mt. Kenya region on diabetes management. The course would be delivered by diabetes specialists in a duration of 1 year, with monthly physical lectures taking place every last Friday of the month.
Objectives
To improve the management of diabetes in the Mt. Kenya region among the Medical officers and physicians within this region.
The topics discussed were:
-Introduction to Diabetes
-Diagnosis of Diabetes
-Treatment with Oral hypoglycemic agents
-Treatment with Insulin
-Complications of Diabetes
-Monitoring of Diabetes
-Nutrition and exercise in the management of Diabetes

-Diabetes in special groups i.e pregnancy, type 1 diabetes
-Management of common comorbidities in Diabetes
-Management of Diabetic Foot
