Description

Point of care ultrasound is a rapid, bedside tool that enhances clinical decision-making by allowing healthcare providers to visualize internal structures in real time. It improves diagnostic accuracy, helps in timely decision making, guides procedures and enables timely interventions. Its use is widely and rapidly growing. In this lecture, we will be focusing on visualizing Inferior Vena Cava and Abdominal Aorta and the relevant and essential applications in patient care.

Objectives

1. To revise the relevant basics of Point of Care Ultrasonography 2. To be able to identify IVC and Aorta using POCUS 3. To be able to assess a patient's volume status through the assessment of IVC using POCUS 4. To be able to identify the various pathologies of the aorta using POCUS 5. Practical demonstrations and skills session
