Dr. Esther Muinga is a seasoned medical doctor and palliative care specialist with over 15 years of experience in healthcare, policy, and advocacy. She holds advanced degrees from Makerere University and the University of Nairobi, and currently serves in Kenya’s Ministry of Health as the Palliative care lead in the Healthy Aging, Palliative Care, and Older Persons Division. Her work focuses on integrating palliative care and older persons services into national health strategy, with a strong emphasis on pain management and dignity in ageing. She mentors healthcare professionals and leads training, research, and policy initiatives to improve care for those with life-threatening illnesses.

    Dr. Callie Daniels-Howell is Research Manager for the International Children’s Palliative Care Network. She holds a PhD in Global Health and Anthropology from University College London, and has worked across Africa, Latin America, Europe, and the Caribbean utilizing qualitative, care-driven, and community engaged methodologies in children’s palliative and end-of-life care.
