Acquired immune-mediated thrombocytopenia Result of autoantibody-mediated platelet destruction and impaired platelet production
Objectives
Parent Guidance for Child with ITP
Monitor bleeding: Skin, gums, nose, urine, stool; seek urgent care for heavy bleeding.
Watch high-risk signs: Headache, drowsiness, confusion, vomiting, severe pain after trauma.
Activity precautions: Avoid contact sports/rough play; use protective gear.
Medication safety: Only give prescribed meds; avoid NSAIDs can increase risk of bleeding.
Follow-up: Attend scheduled appointments(haematology clinic); report new or worsening symptoms TCA in case of danger signs .
Emotional support: Reassure your child, encourage safe play, and maintain hydration and a healthy diet
