Review of ICU mortality and morbidity audit

Objectives

Review ICU and IDU Admission Trends Analyze monthly admission data from A&E and ward sources for both ICU and IDU units. Evaluate Patient Outcomes Examine discharge patterns, ward transfers, and mortality rates across the three-month period. Assess Mortality Rates Present and interpret ICU and IDU mortality percentages to identify trends and areas of concern. Conduct a Case-Based Clinical Audit Provide a detailed review of a specific patient case, including history, examination, investigations, management, and outcomes. Identify Clinical and Systemic Gaps Highlight what went well and what didn’t in the management of the case, especially in ward, theater, and ICU settings. Extract Key Learning Points Share actionable insights and recommendations to improve future patient care, especially regarding sepsis management, dialysis initiation, and consent protocols. Promote Continuous Quality Improvement Use audit findings to inform clinical practice, enhance patient safety, and support evidence-based decision-making.
