Management of euglycemic diabetic ketoacidosis (euDKA)
Objectives
1.Define euglycemic diabetic ketoacidosis (euDKA) and distinguish it from classical diabetic ketoacidosis.
2.Describe the pathophysiology and precipitating factors of euDKA, including the role of sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitors, prolonged fasting, pregnancy, acute illness, surgery, and reduced carbohydrate intake.
3.Identify patients at increased risk of developing euDKA and implement appropriate preventive strategies.
