Description

Low-dose ketamine and dexmedetomidine infusion would provide a longer duration of sensory block, better haemodynamics and fewer complications compared to dexmedetomidine infusion alone.

Objectives

primary objective -compare the time of regression of sensory blockade to S1 in patients receiving an IV infusion of dexmedetomidine and low-dose ketamine–dexmedetomidine infusions undergoing femur fracture surgeries under spinal anaesthesia. secondary objectives -compare the intraoperative haemodynamic stability, change in perioperative stress markers and discharge readiness from the post-anaesthesia care unit (PACU)
