Description

This course provides a comprehensive overview of upper gastrointestinal bleeding (UGIB), covering its causes, clinical presentation, diagnostic methods, and management strategies. Participants will gain a deep understanding of the pathophysiology behind UGIB, including common etiologies such as peptic ulcers, esophageal varices, and Mallory-Weiss tears. Diagnostic modalities, including endoscopy and imaging studies, will be explored, along with their respective roles in identifying the source and severity of bleeding. Management approaches, including pharmacological interventions, endoscopic hemostasis techniques, and surgical options, will be discussed in detail, emphasizing evidence-based practices and patient-centered care.
