  1. Dr. John Weru
    Assistant Professor, Palliative Medicine Board Chair, Kenya Hospices and Palliative Care Association (KEHPCA) Prof. John Weru is a faculty member and specialist in Pain & Palliative Medicine at the Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUHN). He leads the East African Steering Committee in Palliative Care (EAPCSC) within the Aga Khan Health Services. He is a bioethicist at AKUHN and chairs the Hospital Ethics Committee and is the vice chair of the global Aga Khan University Ethics Review Board. He is a member of the executive committee of the Bioethics Society of Kenya. Prof. Weru as well contributes to the academic and clinical landscape through various adjunct positions, including faculty roles with the Extension of Community Health Outcomes – Palliative Care Africa (ECHO-PACA), AMREF International University, and the CBEC-KEMRI Bioethics Training Initiative (CK-BTI) projects. His extensive academic work includes serving as a peer reviewer for multiple journals, and he has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters.
