Description
The Emergency Care Course (TECC) is designed to enable Nurses, Clinical Officers and Doctors working in the Emergency Department/Casualty/OPD to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to respond with confidence to emergency situations and to deliver safe, evidence-based quality emergency care in any setting. TECC encourages candidates to apply the knowledge and skills learnt within the context of the policies of the employing health service and within each individual's own scope of practice. TECC is designed to meet the learning needs of the health workforce (Nurses, Clinical Officers and Medical Officers) working together in an emergency care setting (Emergency Department/Casualty/OPD) who may be required to provide emergency care to the critically ill or injured patient. The course is taught specifically to teams of healthcare providers from the same facility. Course Delivery TECC consists of the following components: Pre-test multiple-choice quiz (MCQ). Attendance at five (5) day face-to-face workshop consisting of skill stations and practical-based scenarios. A Basic Life Support (BLS) clinical skills assessment. An individual scenario-based clinical skills assessment. Multiple-choice TECC test (MCQ)
