Odontogenic infections originate in the teeth or their supporting structures, including the gums, jawbone, and surrounding tissues. These infections can result from untreated dental caries (cavities), gum disease, dental trauma, or dental procedures. When bacteria invade the tooth or surrounding areas, they can cause various issues depending on the severity and location of the infection.
Objectives
Acetaminophen
Inhibits prostaglandin synthesis in the Central Nerves System
Treatment of mild to moderate pain
Oral dosage of 500mgs to 1000mgs every four to six hours( 4MG max per day)
Chronical alcoholism or hepatic disease keep below 2gms orally per day
Analgesic of choice in patients who have a contraindication to NSAID’s
