Ending on:

Venue:
Zoom Webinar

Description

Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) poses a major challenge in critical care. This session will explore quantitative methods for assessing ARDS severity, monitoring progress, and guiding management using key parameters such as oxygenation indices, lung compliance, and imaging tools.

Objectives

-To define the key diagnostic criteria for ARDS based on current evidence and guidelines. -To describe the quantitative parameters used in assessing ARDS severity, including PaO2/FiO2 ratio, lung compliance, and imaging indices. -To interpret quantitative data to guide ventilatory strategies and patient management. -To apply evidence-based tools and scoring systems to evaluate disease progression and response to therapy. -To discuss the role of advanced monitoring techniques and imaging modalities in improving ARDS outcomes.

Presenters

  1. Dr. Idris Chikophe
Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist, Lecturer in Anesthesia & Critical Care, Aga Khan University Hospital, Critical Care Society of Kenya Chairperson
