Description
Bronchopulmonary dysplasia is one of the most common causes of morbidity and mortality in preterm infants. Despite significant advances in preterm infant care over the past few decades, the prevalence of this condition remains high. This activity reviews the pathophysiology, evaluation, and management of bronchopulmonary dysplasia and highlights the role of the interprofessional team in improving care for patients with this condition.
Objectives
1. Describe the pathophysiology of bronchopulmonary dysplasia.
2. Explain how to diagnose bronchopulmonary dysplasia.
3. Explain the importance of screening patients with bronchopulmonary dysplasia for complications like pulmonary hypertension.
4. Explain the importance of improving coordination amongst the interprofessional team to enhance the delivery of care for patients with bronchopulmonary dysplasia
