Point of care ultrasound is defined as a goal-directed beside ultrasound examination performed by health care providers to answer a specific diagnostic question or to guide performance of an invasive procedure. POCUS is a concept of ultrasonography that does not refer to specific organs, but includes echocardiography, abdominal echocardiography, pulmonary echocardiography, lower extremity vascular echocardiography, and joint echocardiography. FAST (focused assessment with sonography for trauma) and RUSH (rapid ultrasound in shock) examination performed in emergency room are also included in POCUS Objectives.
