Claiming CPD points for self initiated learning activities

The iCMS enables you to claim CPD points for learning activities which are not organised by CPD providers accredited in Kenya. For example, skills training like ATLS, clinical skills training, courses in management, conferences both local and international, publication of scientific papers.


The steps to follow are:
1. Participate in the CPD activity e.g attend international conference or write scientific paper.
2. Request for a certificate of participation/completion or download certificate from online systems e.g medscape or daktari online.
3. Log in to the iCMS system and go to MY CPD PORTFOLIO
4. Click the yellow CLAIMS button
5. On the right hand side of the page, go to NON-TOKEN CLAIMS (user initiated activities).
This section is intended to help doctors report CPD activities that the doctor has participated in and are  not organised by CPD providers which are accredited by the medical board in Kenya. 
6. Choose type of activity you participated in e.g Online activities CME like Medscape, CCO, Daktari Online, journal publication, hands-on and interactive skills training, short courses and international conferences. NB. CPD points vary according to activity type. Ensure that you select the correct activity type for the event you participated in.
7. Fill the details of the activities in which you participated.
8. Upload evidence e.g Certificate of participation and save.
The uploaded evidence will be received by the medical board for review. Valid documents will be approved by the CPD administrator and your CPD account will be automatically credited by CPD points based on the the CPD guidelines.
